For the most part I really enjoyed this book. Sarah's journey to find herself and the struggles she deals with as a sibling, child, and outsider are wonderfully written and explored. However, the one thing that irritated me almost to the point of infuriating, is the fact that she lied about her age to Andrew. I know it is an integral part of the story, but I found that her reasoning for why she never told him was flawed. She justifies it as not being important to who she is and who they are, but really, that age gap at that time in life is a huge deal and I can't imagine she didn't really know that. (I also did not know that the age of consent in MA was 16; I think that should have been stated early on as this is rare. I spent most of the book being furious that she would put Andrew in a position where he could possibly, unknowingly, commit a crime).

Sarah thinks logically and often rationalized aspects of her Scarlett Experiment using faulty logic. I like that although she was smart, she still thought like a 16 year old girl trying to find her place in the world. As she works her way through the experiment, she discovers many things about herself and finds her voice when so many teens that age do not.

Between Us and the Moon eBook Rebecca Maizel Reviews

One of my favorite books I've read all year. Love this one. Heartbreaking, realistic, and beautifully written. Highly recommend!
My 17 year old daughter liked this a lot and read it in one day!
The author created the most beautiful story i've read in a while. Between romance and self descovery, it keeps you turning page after page. Also, andrew is just the guy we all want in our lives and now im sad ill never meet him. I wish there was another book so i could be amazed by him a little more.
Wonderfully written book. I'm far from a teen, but reading this really made me sit and think back on my teenage days, and what I learned about myself and love back then, and how sometimes we want love so badly that we are willing to omit parts of ourselves to keep it.
This is a story about a nerdy teenage girl who spends a summer learning about herself and relationships. The book was well-written, touching, and memorable. Loved the protagonist.
Bean is me and Sarah is who I aspire to be.

First of all this story is beautiful. It will make you laugh as much as make you cry in just a few short pages. I have read this book 3 times already and I can admit that each time it's brought tears to my eyes.
This is the first book I've read by Maizel, but I look forward to whatever she writes next. Between Us and the Moon is a beautifully written story about a girl who makes a whole lot of mistakes, and she can't stop making the mistakes until they all catch up with her. I felt bad for Sarah because even though her life was full of people, she was really alone at a time when she was figure out who she wants to be. The one person she feels closest to she'll lose if she tells the truth. The final page of the book left me wanting another chapter!
