An incredible read. Thankfully, the short stories allow you to put the book down occasionally, Otherwise you would sit and read it (as i nearly did) from cover to cover the moment you cracked it open. Can't wait to read more from Amelia Gray.
It was an easy read. There's so many stories you are bound to fall in love with some.
I was blown away by the style and stories themselves. I can see her writing style being compared to magical realism.
LOVE! Amazing poems, a very unique concept and execution.
I love this book. The stories are varied, with a deft and expert hand giving us different voices for every tale. Some reviews complain that the stories don't have endings. Well, I love this open-ended style of prose. Beautiful, surreal, and poignant. Highly recommended.
Really DISTURBING short stories. But I imagine some of the early readers of Edgar Allan Poe felt the same way. While I'm impressed by the power of these short stories, I didn't enjoy them.
This book is not only beautifully put together (the cover art is simply breathtaking!) but the collection is also a great read. Gray's fiction is definitely bizzarre at times, but it also works so well with what she's writing. High recommend reading her other collection as well.
